In addition to NELI's flagship CareerFOCUS Eagle Award™, we present four
additional signature awards in honor of leadership achievement. These
awards are exceptionally special because their honorees are nominated and
selected by NELI's founder and president, Georgia L. Clark.
NELI Award
NELI's namesake award is the Institute's most distinguished corporate honor,
presented to corporate leaders who demonstrate a powerful commitment to
diversity recognition, recruitment, and retention.
The coveted NELI Award is presented to the Chairman or CEO in recognition of
his or her company's exemplary diversity practices. This award is an
exceptional showpiece of accomplishment.

Living Legend Star Award
This award recognizes prominent celebrities whom we love for more than their
amazing talent. Living Legend Star Awardees demonstrate an unprecedented
commitment to community leadership which serves to strengthen the lives of
others. Legendary actors James Earl Jones and Ving Rhames have each
accepted NELI's Living Legend Star Award.
Soaring Spirit Award
NELI's Soaring Spirit Award has recognized such public luminaries as Reverend, Dr. Calvin O. Butts, senior pastor of Harlem's renowned Abyssinian Baptist Church; Dr. Gerald Durley, senior pastor of Atlanta's Providence Missionary Baptist Church; Mr. John W. Mack, president of the Los Angeles Urban League; and Congressman Emanuel Cleaver II, Missouri's 5th District Representative, and senior pastor of St. James United Methodist Church in Kansas City, Missouri. This award honors community-based leaders who enrich the lives of others and enhance the communities in which they live.
Peak Performance Award
This award salutes alumni Eagle Award winners who demonstrate an overarching commitment to the continued success of NELI's programs and lend valuable resources to that end. Each honoree becomes a member of NELI's Peak Performer's Roundtable.
